During your initial consultation for dental plates, Dr. Wilson will assess your overall oral health including gum and existing teeth condition. In some cases, additional treatments may need to be performed before fitting can begin such as tooth extraction. There are a few different types of plate options available depending on your individual needs. These include:

• Fixed Partial Dentures - Also known as "crown and bridge." These are securely fit against existing teeth and are quite durable.
• Removable Partial Dentures - Replace an arch or a portion of missing teeth.
• Full Dentures - A complete set of teeth for either the full upper or lower arch.
• Immediate Dentures - These can be fitted quickly after the oral cast is taken but will need to be checked regularly for adjustments as the mouth heals.

A putty mold will then be used to take an impression of your oral cavity and will serve as the preliminary guide for constructing your dental plates. Once you've healed from any pre-treatments or tooth extractions, which may take up to two months, Dr. Wilson will perform the first fitting.
